Reconciliation Rooms

On both sides of the main doors are the Reconciliation Rooms, known in past times as "Confessionals". These rooms are bright -- suitable for celebrating God's healing, forgiveness and freedom. There are two chairs in each room so that the person who is celebrating the sacrament can sit facing the priest. Some people prefer to kneel behind a screen to celebrate this sacrament. This option is also available in each room.

The reconciliation rooms have pull up shades that can be raised so that the room can be used for other purposes as well. They make suitable waiting rooms before weddings, for the bride or groom. Sometimes parents feel uncomfortable because their child is crying or acting out and they need a place to go for a few minutes until "peace" is restored. Instead of leaving the church, or going into the lobby, these rooms are sound proof, and since there are speakers inside the room, the parent can stay with the child and still be part of the liturgy.

We are very happy that children are part of the celebrations here and are very comfortable with their being with the rest of the people, since this is our family. These rooms are used only when it's really necessary.
