The debut video from AC/DC: Iron Man 2 is AC/DC's classic album cut "Shoot To Thrill," which was filmed live last month in Buenos Aires during the band's highly acclaimed Black Ice World Tour, the second highest grossing world tour of 2009 according to concert industry trade publication Pollstar. "Music is an integral part of the Tony Stark and Iron Man experience, and we are pleased that Columbia and AC/DC are taking part in the franchise's phenomenon. Through this relationship, the band is delivering fans supercharged Iron Man branded music through all our combined consumer touch points, from the movie to retail outlets and even virally with the debut of the new video," said Tim Connors, Chief Operating Officer, Marvel Studios.

October 2nd, 2009:
A note from Brian Johnson regarding AC/DC's show cancellation/postponements:
"It's an inside job that forced me to reschedule those upcoming 6 shows!
Inside being the operative word here. My insides were giving me lots of trouble,
ulcers and such. They were really uncomfortable and painful, which required
me to seek immediate medical attention. The doctor's looked me over, poked,
scanned and prodded all possible areas. In the end they gave me a clean bill
of health, but insisted that I take a bit of time to recuperate and rest up.
We've been touring non stop since this time last year and have a lot more touring
to do. Thanks for all of the get well wishes and
I hope to see you all again very soon."

January 16th, 2009: PRESS RELEASE: "LET THERE BE ROCK" - AC/DC EXHIBITION IN LONDON
PROUD GALLERIES presents
AC/DC: Let There be Rock
©Philip Morris
Launch night: 4th February 2009
Exhibition: 5th February – 31st May 2009
In celebration of what is likely to be AC/DC’s last world tour, Proud Camden
presents AC/DC: Let There be Rock– a photographic portrait of a band so prolific
their sales figures rank second only to the Beatles. This exhibition will take
place to coincide with the UK culmination of the arena tour, and marks the
anniversary of the original singer Bon Scott’s untimely death.
In reaction to the reception AC/DC have received throughout their career, Proud
Camden will look not at the musical super power as they are today, but instead
at a young AC/DC, a band who themselves could not have predicted the phenomenal
worldwide success they were to achieve.
Shot through the lens of celebrated rock photographer Philip Morris, this
collection shines new light on
members of the original line-up, including unseen images of the late Bon Scott
alongside his iconic band mates.
In his career as a rock photographer Morris has amassed an unrivalled archive of
Australian rock photography, this will be the first time these images are
showcased in the UK and includes images not previously seen anywhere in the
world.
An absolute must for fans of AC/DC old and new, this is the only chance to see
the definitive exhibition of a band whose influence is unwavering at a time of
huge importance to both the band and their followers.

October 19th, 2008:

Yours truly in New York City promoting the new AC/DC Rock Band game.
When Wal-Mart noticed its AC/DC t-shirts were among some of its best-selling,
the world’s biggest retailer realized some type of partnership with the rock
band might make sense.
Now, as AC/DC prepares for the Oct 20 launch of its latest album, that
partnership is coming to life — it goes far beyond shirts.
Wal-Mart, which was chosen by the band to exclusively sell the “Black Ice” album
in its stores in the U.S., is setting up ”Rock Again AC/DC Stores” inside all of
its 3,500 Walmart locations. They will be stocked with the new album, AC/DC
clothes, DVDs, the band’s earlier albums, games, and an area to try out the new
AC/DC Rock Band video game.
Wal-Mart is also making its presence known in Manhattan, an island currently
Wal-Mart free. On Friday, it parked its ”Black Ice” truck in Times Square and
set up a stage so passers-by could try out the new AC/DC Rock Band video game.
Melissa O’Brien, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman, said the band appeals to everyone from
50-year-olds to 15-year-olds, and the retailer was watching to see if the AC/DC
push would attract new shoppers to its stores.
At Times Square, 39-year-old Bill Voccia said he was ”definitely one of the
band’s biggest fans.” A member of an AC/DC tribute band, he could not wait to
get his hands on the new album. Voccia said he prefers to buy CDs rather than
get his music online – a good thing considering AC/DC is among a handful of
musicians who refuse to put their music on iTunes.
Juan Delaluz could also be described as a big fan. The 13-year-old was dressed
in an AC/DC hat, an AC/DC t-shirt and AC/DC pin. Delaluz, who informed his
teachers he would miss school on Friday because of the Time Square event, said
he was one of the only ones among his friends who still buy CDs — everyone else
listens to music on their iPods.
But not everyone in the crowd was an AC/DC fan or quite sure what the event in
Times Square was all about.
When this reporter asked one teenager if she was a fan of AC/DC, she responded
with a puzzled look.
“I don’ t know who they are,” she said.
She was more interested in watching her friends play Rock Band–not realizing the
songs on the video game were all AC/DC songs.

the advent of the unique AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band(R) Track Pack(TM) video
game, also to be sold exclusively by Walmart and Sam's Club starting early
November.
Now, upon the retail launch of Black Ice, Columbia Records and Walmart
plan to give fans even more access to this legendary band. In each of its
3,500 Walmart stores, Walmart will create a "Rock Again AC/DC Store" within
the store. While the new $11.88 Black Ice CD album holds centerstage, it

a social gaming station for fans to try out their rock-n-roll skills on
Rock Band.
In addition, Walmart and Columbia Records have partnered with MTV to

items. These pop up stores will open 12:01 midnight Oct. 20 to begin
selling the album, AC/DC apparel, the Rock Band video game, and Rock Band
branded apparel and accessories.
Also new, Walmart has dispatched interactive Black Ice trucks on the
streets of New York City and Los Angeles this week. Making new stops each
day, the trucks fill the air with AC/DC music, invite fans to be the first
to hear the new album before release, and allow players to demo the new
AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band(R) Track Pack game on the truck's back stage. These
trucks will also sell the album starting 12:01 a.m. Oct. 20.
Featuring 15 tracks, Black Ice is AC/DC's first album of all new
material in eight years. It will be sold exclusively at Walmart,
Walmart.com, Sam's Club, samsclub.com, and acdc.com for $11.88, with free
shipping online. Fans can go to walmart.com/acdc to preview tracks from the
new CD, checkout new videos of the band, get information on the pop up
store and Black Ice truck schedules, shop for apparel and more.
"Fans have waited more than eight years for a new record from AC/DC and
finally the wait is over," said Columbia Records co-Chairman Steve Barnett.
"The band has consistently delivered the kind of anthemic rock music that
defines generations and 'Black Ice' continues in that tradition."
"We've turned up the volume to support what we know is one of this
year's most awaited albums from one of the world's most popular bands,"
said Gary Severson, Wal-Mart's senior vice president of Entertainment.
"This is the first time in our history where we've taken such a large area
within our store to celebrate a legendary band, and we invite fans of all
ages to come out with us and get ready to rock. Only at Walmart can you
find all of these items together, easily and affordably, to celebrate their
U.S. tour and music."

"Classic in Concert: No Bull" Airs at 4:00 PM ET/PT
A follow-up to their 1991 concert film masterpiece "Live At Donnington," "No

Ventas, a remarkable space usually designated for bull fights, this footage
showcases Angus Young at his best.
"BBC Crown Jewels: Rock Goes To College: AC/DC" Airs at 6:00 PM ET/PT
"Rock Goes To College," was a BBC series that ran between 1978 and 1981 on
British television. Up-coming rock oriented bands were showcased live from small
venues and broadcast simultaneously on television and radio during a 40-50
minute live performance. This memorable episode, taped on October 28, 1978 from
University of Essex, Colchester includes live performances of "Live Wire,"

Rocker" and "Let There Be Rock."

"Classic in Concert: Live At Donnington" Airs at 8:00 PM ET/PT
This historic concert sees Angus Young and the boys hit the stage and wow a
sizeable crowd at the 1991's Monsters of Rock show at Castle Donnington. Always
a spectacular live presence, AC/DC manage to take their recorded output to a
whole new level in the live arena, combining some classic hard rock sounds with
a level of showmanship that never fails to raise a smile. "Classic in Concert:
Live at Donnington," showcases the 2-hour performance that included real
cannons, the Hells Bell, an inflatable Rosie and an inflatable Angus.
"BBC Crown Jewels: Sight & Sound in Concert: AC/DC" Airs at 10:00 PM ET/PT
This memorable concert taped on October 29, 1977 from the Hippodrome, UK,

Rudd. The pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal perform "Let There Be Rock,"
"Problem Child," "Bad Boy Boogie," "T.N.T." and many others. This concert is

AC/DC Black Ice Vinyl Goes Exclusive To
Indies

`The Battle of Black Ice` is over. Stores across America have reached a happy
compromise over the exclusive situation with Wal-Mart. Independents outlets will
now have the exclusive vinyl release of the new AC/DC album and the `Rock and
Roll Train` single.
`Black Ice` is without a doubt the most eagerly awaited album on 2008 and who
gets what has certainly been a hot topic.
Earlier this year, a deal was struck with Wal-Mart for the exclusive release of
the album in the United States. Independent stores rallied to dilute the impact
with the threat of flooding the market with cheaper, imported goods from South
America.
Now a compromise has been reached giving the 700 Indie stores across America the
exclusive vinyl release of the album as well as a 7” vinyl release of the single
‘Rock and Roll Train’ backed with ‘War Machine’.
While America has lost many of the major chains such as Tower, HMV and Virgin in
the last couple of years, the owner/operated Indie stores have been thriving
because of their product knowledge, customer service and diverse range.
The impact and value of the Indie store was felt nationwide this year when, for
the first time, the stores combined for Record Store Day, an event held last
April that drew national attention.
AC/DC’s ‘Black Ice’ will be released in the USA on October 20 and in Australia
on October 18.
The Black Ice world tour will kick off in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 28.
October 2nd, 2008:
Hard Rock International has announced
that all four Hard Rock Cafés in the UK are set to host official fan-only
listening parties for the eagerly awaited new AC/DC album "Black Ice". The
listening parties will take place between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday,
October 16 at Hard Rock Café London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Cardiff and will
give over 500 fans an exclusive preview of the 15 brand new tracks by the
world's biggest rock act!
AC/DC fans can apply for tickets for these exclusive parties by registering
their details on
www.acdccomp.co.uk/hardrock. The prize draw is now open, and closes at
midnight on Friday, October 10.

words (36 + 24 + 36, if you know what we mean), and you could be heading
somewhere on the East Coast for the AC/DC concert of a lifetime.

The AC/DC Wal-Mart exclusive is about to
be thunderstruck as US stores prepare to bring in stock of `Black Ice` from
outside the USA.
One independent chain told Undercover News that, “we have been able to order
Black Ice in from Argentina for $8.25 per unit and will be able to sell it for
less than the Wal-Mart price”.
The ease of buying from anywhere in the world makes a farce of the “exclusive
deal”.
By forcing the real music stores to shop internationally for their stock,
SonyBMG America will be the loser in the deal.
“We can buy from anywhere,” the store source said. “With technology and
international accounts, if a major like SonyBMG America decides they don’t want
to do business with us, we will do business with other territories. Why should
we allow them to disadvantage our businesses and piss off our customers”.
The value of the US dollar right now has made it simple to do deals
internationally and allow stores to shop for the best price.
The AC/DC exclusive deal looks set to fizzle. US shoppers may find the Black Ice
album in their local stores but they won’t necessarily be US produced good … and
the customers won’t care.
AC/DC’s Black Ice album is due for US release on October 20.

AC/DC's Rock 'N Roll Train inspires
YouTube madness

The well-worn saying is that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Let's
hope you still believe that after witnessing some of the YouTube gems that have
followed in the wake of AC/DC's Rock 'N Roll Train. They range from the...well,
you be the judge.
First up is the New York band Live Wire, who bill themselves redundantly as the
"World's Definitive #1 AC/DC Tribute Show." Their website says they're the
"closest you can get to the real thing," and hey, we'll take them at their word.
Here they are performing Rock N' Roll Train in Falls Church, Virginia.
Next up we have 17-year-old drummer Paul Clark Jr. from Birmingham England. A
very polite sort, Paul apologizes for his headphones (his other ones have
broken), and says if you're a Birmingham-based bass player between the ages of
17-26, to give him a shout. Here he is performing a "live drum tribute" to Rock
'N Roll Train.
Rob Goobernutty says that the song is "so simple it's not even worth posting."
He just did it "to get views, and also to educate all you noobs out there!" That
was mighty sporty of him, wasn't it? Here he is, schoolin' us all.
Last and possibly least, we have a French YouTuber who calls himself
AceFrehley140986. What Ace does might be considered performance art. On the
other hand, it might be considered...again, you be the judge.
Should you have your own AC/DC-inspired videos, don't be shy - send them our
way. We'll be kind. Honest,

An AC/DC version of Rock Band has been
confirmed for release in October.
As suggested by Undercover on September 18 AC/DC Rock Band Track Pack will be a
worthy contender to the Guitar Hero Metallica title.
The AC/DC title will be based on live tracks from the Live at Donnington DVD.
The title, like the forthcoming Black Ice album, will be available exclusively
through Wal-Mart in the USA.
As part of the deal, Wal-Mart will have an AC/DC section featuring their CDs,
DVDs and T-Shirts as well as other merch, as well as the exclusive sale of the
Black Ice CD and the Rock Band game.
September 29th, 2008: Although it has not yet been officially confirmed by ACDC.COM or ACDCROCKS.COM on the tour dates page, there are two more shows that have been otherwise confirmed, that will be going on sale this Saturday, October 4th: Tampa, Florida December 21st, and Cleveland, Ohio January 5th.
With these dates being confirmed, it is likely to expect an official announcement with more North American dates from the band shortly...
September 26th, 2008: AC/DC 'Give It All You Got' contest!
AC/DC have announced a new contest where they are asking fans to create their
own version of the "Rock 'N Roll Train" video and upload it to YouTube with a "ACDCGiveItAllYouGot"
tag on it.
Prizes to be given away include an Angus Young signature model Gibson SG and a
Malcolm Young signature model Gretsch G6131MY signed by AC/DC, along with five
signed copies of the band's new album, "Black Ice".

BACK IN BLACK is #1 on the Billboard charts!
'TRAIN' ON BOTH TRACKS: AC/DC is currently charting on Mainstream Rock Tracks,
where "Rock n Roll Train" is No. 3. "Train" is the group's 29th entry on this
tally and its first since "Safe in New York City" peaked at No. 21 in May 2001.
"Train" is AC/DC's highest-charting song since "Stiff Upper Lip" spent four
weeks at No. 1 in March-April 2000. "Lip" was the Australian group's third No. 1
on this survey, following "Big Gun" in 1993 and "Hard as a Rock" in 1995.
AC/DC made its Mainstream Rock Tracks debut the week of March 28, 1981 with
"Hells Bells" and "Back in Black." That gives the group a Mainstream chart span
of 27 years, six months and one week.
AC/DC's chart span on Modern Rock Tracks is considerably shorter, by 27 years
and six months. The band makes its first appearance on this tally this week, as
"Train" starts at No. 38.
Should "Train" arrive on the Hot 100, it would be the first AC/DC song to appear
on this chart in 15 years.
Meanwhile, the classic "Back in Black" album is No. 1 on the Top Pop Catalog
chart for the second consecutive week and the third week overall. The album's
first week at No. 1 was on the chart dated Feb. 11, 2006. "Back in Black" moved
over to the catalog chart the week of March 8, 2003 after a 131-week run on The
Billboard 200. With 714 weeks on the Catalog chart, "Back in Black" has now
charted a total of 845 weeks.

Bauer relaunches Q magazine
LONDON - Bauer Media will unveil a redesign of flagship music title Q in its
November issue, which goes on sale early next week.

AC/DC's Angus Young will be the first cover star of the new-look Q after he
agreed for the first time in decades to be studio photographed in his iconic
schoolboy uniform. The cover story is the first major interview the band has
given in eight years.
Bauer relaunches Q magazine
by Alison Donnelly, Marketing 26-Sep-08, 10:23
LONDON - Bauer Media will unveil a redesign of flagship music title Q in its
November issue, which goes on sale early next week.
The relaunch comes after Q retained the top spot as the biggest-selling music
monthly in the first half of 2008, despite having lost 17,000 sales, or 13.1% of
its circulation year on year, according to the latest ABCs.
The title had an average sale of 113,174 copies in the first half of 2008. Most
music and entertainment titles suffered heavy declines over the period.
A number of features are being introduced to the magazine, including The Q
Challenge, The Q Hero, Rock 'n' Roll Travel and My Collection, in which
musicians or celebrities talk about their special collections.
Music remains at the core of the magazine, with the Q 50 - the month's essential
50 tracks - and Q Review delivering the information about new releases.
AC/DC Slam itunes
Angus Young reveals why his band boycot the store
AC/DC and Elbow have slammed the iTunes music download service, with Elbow
frontman Guy Garvey saying it has caused the "death of the album".
AC/DC frontman Angus Young, whose band refuse to make their songs available on
iTunes, said the boycott was because they didn't want fans simply downloading a
few tracks of theirs.
"We don't make singles, we make albums," he told the Telegraph.
"We believe the songs on any of our albums belong together. If we were on iTunes,
we know a certain percentage of people would only download two or three songs
from the album. We don't think that represents us musically."
Young added that despite pressure from industry figures to make AC/DC's songs
available on iTunes, he didn't believe that being part of the site was crucial
to success.
"Since iTunes came into existence, we've actually increased our back catalogue
sales without being on the site," he said. "We were sternly warned by our
management team and our record label that the complete opposite would be the
case."
AC/DC are set to release a new album, 'Black Ice', on October 20. It won't be
available on iTunes.
(Webmaster note: KUDOS to AC/DC for sticking to their ground, keeping rock albums alive, and PROVING that AC/DC does not need itunes to be successful- more successful than every other band on the planet since 2003, aside from The Beatles, who.... you guessed it, also do not participate in itunes! go figure!)

AC/DC's Catalog Blows Away Competition - Sep. 11, 2008
According to Hits Daily Double (the companion web site of music industry tip
sheet HITS), Australian hard-rock legends AC/DC have sold 7 million physical
albums in the U.S. between 2004 and 2007, more than the combined physical and
digital totals of PINK FLOYD (6 million), THE EAGLES (5.1 million), THE ROLLING
STONES (4.9 million) or LED ZEPPELIN (4.7 million). By comparison, THE BEATLES
have sold 8 million CDs during the same period. Like THE BEATLES, AC/DC has yet
to make its catalog available online, leading to the unanswerable question of
how much, if it all, the iTunes boycott has benefited the band’s overall sales.
The AC/DC catalog, owned by the band, moved with them from WMG to its present
home at Sony.

AC/DC are this close to announcing their 18-month world tour, which kicks off on Halloween in Chicago.
July 23rd 2008:
FAKE AC/DC NEWS has apparently become the new fashion on the internet. A fraudulent message that was mass mailed to AC/DC fans, bloggers, and webmasters by someone pretending to be from Sony music named Melissa Roxford has apparently been picked up by several news sites (such as AntiMUSIC) and other forums and blogs on the internet, which in turn are spreading this as "official news". THIS IS NOT REAL NEWS, nor does this person actually work for SonyBMG/Epic nor are they affiliated in any way with AC/DC or their management.
"DIRTY RHYTHM" is not the name of the new AC/DC album, nor is it "STRAP IT ON", another popular internet rumor. Another AC/DC site (Rising Power) has recently made headlines in music news (Blabbermouth, etc.) from fans who have been creating album titles and AC/DC tracklists, which are trying to be passed off as legitimate news to others, including some humorous ones taking shots at the bands age.
Until ACDC.COM , the bands official site releases legitimate news, please be patient...
Angus & Malcolm Young, Warehouse Studios, Vancouver, BC, Canada from March 2008. (Thanks Enrique!)

AC/DC's long awaited new album will be released exclusively through Wal Mart stores in the USA according to a recent article from Reuters. The album will be the first from the band since 2000's "Stiff Upper Lip" and will be the first of new material to be issued through Columbia Records. A massive world tour is expected to follow. Tentative release for the album may be by August 2008, all depending upon the marketing strategy and promotional objective of the record company.
April 22nd 2008:
Brian Johnson was interviewed live this morning on DC 101 FM (Washington DC/Virginia), who phoned in for a brief interview with the DJ's there. Brian mostly discussed his participation in the movie 'Totally Baked', but was also asked about the new AC/DC album.
Brian confirmed the news I posted on the 16th, and stated that the band is now finished recording the new album and that Angus & Malcolm have remained in Vancouver with Mike Fraser and Brendan O'Brien to mix the album. He also stated that after that they will work on getting the artwork done, and promotional stuff for the release, and that the band will in fact tour. I would guess that the new AC/DC album will be released by sometime this Summer, with the tour to follow by late Summer/early Autumn.

ACDC.COM NEWS Updated!
AC/DC Set To Release New Album This Year

material sometime later this year. The band are currently recording in

Fraser. This will be the band's first collection of new material since the
release of Stiff Upper Lip in 2000."

I have confirmed that the new AC/DC album is in fact being recorded in Vancouver, Canada with producer Brendan O'Brien. The band has been very hard at work, recording 6-7 days per week, and want to get the album done for the fans because they know how long it's been. The band plans to finish up with recording within the next 2-3 weeks from today. and last but not least... "The tour is going to be MASSIVE" and is likely to start in Australia. You heard it here first.

BRAND NEW OFFICIAL AC/DC Contest through ACDC.COM!!
AC/DC's Got A Shockingly BIG Prize For
You!
Three feet long and two feet wide...
In rock, bigger is always better. Two guitarists are cool, but isn't it better
when they're blood brothers? Sure, one Marshall amp is nice, but a stack of them
is better. A 28 foot tall bronze statue of Angus is great, but it's better when
it shoots smoke from its mouth and sparks from its eyes, no? And, of course, one
disc of live footage is great, but getting plugged into three discs of rare,
unreleased AC/DC concert and television footage is best.
You get the picture: AC/DC is larger than life and, following the band's lead,
ACDC.com does everything BIG.
And, if you thought that last month's signed bass giveaway at ACDC.com was big,
you're in for a shock. Literally.
This time around, we're giving you a chance to win the ultimate AC/DC Plug Me In
Prize Pack. The winner will receive a copy of the Deluxe Collector's Edition of
Plug Me In, plus one of everything in the AC/DC Plug Me In store. Shirts. Hats.
Sweatshrit. You get it all. See what you've got coming here.
Okay, so that's big, yeah, but that isn't HUGE, right? The lucky contest winner
will also receive an original proof used for the design of the Deluxe
Collector's Edition of Plug Me In - the very one that Angus, Malcolm, Brian,
Cliff and Phil looked at before sending the package off to press. Not big enough
for you? Did we forget to mention that the proof is 2 feet by 3 feet?
All you have to do for a shot at the big prize is head over to the Contests page
to enter.
Enter now!
Can't wait until the contest ends to get your hands on the goods? Head over to
the store today to pick up Plug Me In and all the latest AC/DC gear.
Have a good one,
