We all know KING DIAMOND as the lead singer for the band Mercyful Fate. He also fronts his own solo band KING DIAMOND. (not to mention records and tours with both bands on a consistant basis!). His unique and truly awesome voice as well as his extreme originality are definate trademarks. The talent and musicianship portrayed in KING DIAMOND are remarkable. The first KING DIAMOND album was released shortly after the breakup of Mercyful Fate in 1985. Mercyful Fate reformed in 1993, and King now fronts BOTH bands. KING DIAMOND was the creator of his unique "satanic" brand of Heavy Metal with his (Alice Cooper influenced) Stage show. Its a shame that the likes of the talentless Marilyn Manson gets credit for something KING has done and established for almost two DECADES now! Well, we know who the real KING is.

in recent interviews, King has stated the affects of Music piracy/mp3 downloads/bootlegs and the music industry in general & how it has caused problems within the record company. Mercyful Fate had left Metal Blade USA and has a new deal, and King Diamond is now recording/writing for his next release THE PUPPETMASTER. It is unfortunate that he and the band could not tour in support for ABIGAL II THE REVENGE...As this album is a COMPLETE MASTERPIECE!! Perhaps if Metal Blade records, despite whatever excuses they like to use, took at least some of the blame for NEVER promoting or helping with tour support for their TOP bands(ie. MERCYFUL FATE, KING DIAMOND & FATES WARNING), they'd have something to show for it. These bands have MORE than enough fan base to take them to new heights in popularity, if their record company gave half a damn. That's my 2 cents on it. Get with it Slagel and promote these bands!!!! like they deserve!!!! maybe THEN you'll see how fast they sell out tours and how album sales rise. A few less on $ on the cannibal corpse ads wont hurt now....
