Dear Parishioners,

Advent is a time of waiting, longing and begging. It is a time to pray, "Come, Lord Jesus". We look forward to celebrating the first coming of Jesus at Christmas. We look forward with hope to the second coming of Jesus in His glory. We seek out Jesus here and now in the Mass, when He comes to us in the Eucharist. We seek out Jesus in the people and events of our lives, when He comes to us in ordinary ways.
Last weekend, we welcomed Fr. Henry Emekwue to our worshipping community. Fr. Henry comes to us from St. John's University where he is completing his doctoral studies. Fr. Henry has graciously accepted my invitation to be with us temporarily on weekends.
Fr. Michael Udoekpo, who is completing his doctoral studies in Washington, D.C. will spend his Christmas recess with us beginning December 19th. It is always a joy to have him return home to spend some time with us.
Effective in the New Year, we will follow the schedule of several one-priest parishes in our diocese. Weekday Masses will be celebrated at 8:00AM Monday through Thursday. There will NOT be a Mass on Friday or Saturday mornings beginning the week of January 20th until further notice. Of course, funerals, weddings, etc. will take precedence on any day, as scheduled.

Thanks
Fr. Don
