What is RENEW 2000?

It's a parish-based program for spiritual renewal offered in dioceses across the country and around the world in response to Pope John Paul 11's call to prepare to celebrate the coming millennium.

Why Renew 2000?

To meet friends and find support in relationships
To grow in knowledge and love of Jesus
To relate our life experience to scripture
To strengthen our own convictions about our Catholic faith so we can share it more readily and profoundly affect society.

How do people participate in RENEW 2000?

People are invited to be part of a small group -- usually meetings are held in people's homes -- for six weeks. The meetings last around 90 minutes.     Each week's meeting focuses on a different topic related to our lives and God.

When are the parish meetings offered?

In most parishes meetings will be scheduled based on the availability of people. Some groups will meet in the day; some at night.

What if I can't get out to the parish meetings?

People can also meet during lunch hour at work (or meet before or after work). If you and a group of co-workers are interested in participating in the six week RENEW 2000 topics, contact the parish near you for further materials.

Who is RENEW 2000 for?

Anyone interested in renewing their life.     (It's interesting to note that over the years, some people in their 20's and 30's felt that there was little offered to them in church communities. Extra consultation was done with people in this age group to be sure that RENEW 2000's materials were helpful to their lives.) Adults of all ages are invited to join a group and people in their 20's and 30's can know that they have a particular welcome to this process.

How do I sign up to participate in RENEW 2000?

Sign-up Sundays for the Lent season are January 24 and 31, 1999.
