THE HOLY WAY

The 1999 annual meeting of The Holy Way was held at our worship center in Bealeton, Virginia on January 16. After a time of worship in the Spirit, the Lord spoke to us through prophetic utterance and visions to give us new direction and vision for the year ahead.

 
Word of Wisdom: The Lord is calling us forth in these days as a body to speak a prophetic word to the nation and to the world. The Lord will place His truth upon our hearts that we may be able to peak His words clearly. We will have a prophetic word powerful to create the thing of which it peaks. In order for us to be able to do that, the Lord calls us to a higher level of sanctification; we will be pure as He is pure. We will learn to walk in obedience to Him moment by moment. We will walk in His ways, taking each step as He directs. His glory will be manifested in our lives; the word will go forth with a powerful anointing in the power of Almighty God.
These are hard days, days which require your commitment and faithfulness. Trust Me, says the Lord your God, for I will lead you in the way that I would have you go and I will perform through you the mighty works which I have promised. Learn My ways, learn them more perfectly, and walk in hem.

Isaiah 62:8, 9 (NIV): The LORD has sworn by his right hand and by his mighty arm: “Never again will I give your grain as food for your enemies, and never again will foreigners drink the new wine for which you have toiled; but those who harvest it will eat it and praise the LORD, and those who gather the grapes will drink it in the courts of my sanctuary.”

Isaiah 45:1, 3 (NIV): This is what the LORD says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by name.”

Prophetic Word: Hear Me, O My people, hear My voice, because I will take you into My presence.

Prophetic Word: Truly I have called you into My presence to behold Me, saith the Lord your God. For as you behold Me, you shall be transformed from glory to glory into My image. For I have purchased you to be sons, to behold Me, and that you may be My presence in this earth. For I have called you to be the body of My Son, My people. I say to you, “Come in, for I have made a way for you to come in. I call you even now to come into My presence and behold the beauty of your Lord.”

John 17:22, 23 (NIV): I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in Me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.

Prophetic Word: I feel the Holy Spirit is saying, “Count the cost of giving up your old conditioning, your ideas, your intelligence. Count the cost to give it all to me. Count the cost of the comforts; count the full cost.” But conversely, the Lord is saying. “Do not be daunted by the cost. Just come to Me. I will take care of every hindrance and every area of fear. Come to Me.”

Vision: I see a cinder block wall, very tall. Jon and Nazar have tools in their hands to put cement in between the blocks.

Isaiah 2:2, 4 (NIV): In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be estabished as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say, “Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many people. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
 
 

Let us understand the importance of the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ. He is now seated on the right hand of the Father in heaven. All authority in heaven and on earth is given to Him. If Christ has become our life and we are His Body, this authority in heaven and on earth is ours to exercise in the world. Whatever we ask in His Name will be granted. We can command principalities and powers, nations, and peoples in His Name and according to His purpose. We only have to be obedient enough to Him to know His purposes and walk under the anointing of His Spirit.

Linda Chapman recounted a dream: We were having a church service outside, and nearby were different denominations also having services. Everybody seemed to be at peace and mingled freely together. I went up for communion with my mother, and we knelt down. As we were kneeling at the altar, suddenly a huge lion came walking up. The power emanating from the lion was incredible. The lion just lay down on the altar, looking fierce and proud. My mother turned to me and said, “The lion will lay down with the lamb.” Then I awoke. I felt the Lord was saying, “This is the time at the end when peace will come.” In these last days within His church, Jesus will not only be the Lamb that was slain for the sins of the world, but He will be powerfully manifested as the Lion of Judah. His power He gives to us, His body.

Prophetic Word: What is the Isaac in your life? Are you willing to lay your Isaac on the altar, so that you can be free of all things and allow Him to work through you the way He chooses.
Vision: I see a very tall man coming from the East and making a path through shoulder high grass of some kind. He is coming toward us and He is beckoning us to come onto the path.
Interpretation of the tall man clearing a path: Spiritually speaking, where we have been has been wonderful, but the Lord is saying, “Do not stay where you are. I have something better.” The tall man is calling us to a new destination. The Lord wants us to identify with that tall man with a clear vision of where we are to go and where we are to beckon the people to follow.

After these general directions from the Lord, we spent time praying about some projects that are in the initial planning stages. These are mostly things for which we are still seeking direction. We would greatly appreciate all of your prayers and directions.

• The elders of the Indonesian church in Washington, D.C., to which our team in Bealeton has been ministering, are convinced that, since our team came, something wonderful is happening in the lives of the people. They have asked Jon to stay to help them for one or two years. Jon is still under The Holy Way in Indonesia and has to submit to the authority in Bali from which he was sent. The church in Washington will send a letter to request his service. After prayer, we favored his staying here, but we have to hear from Bali.
• The property in North Carolina has been surveyed. There seems to be considerably less than the deed states. When the project was prayed for in Lawang, the Lord said that He does not want anyone to take what belongs to Him and that we must measure carefully. We do not know exactly what this means. When we prayed about it, we saw a circle with a line through it, one half white, the other half black with a line going from top to bottom. We remembered that Jesus is the light, and in Him is no darkness. It appears that we have some spiritual warfare to do.
• We prayed for the West Virginia land and for the Noppenbergers who plan to go there. There seems to be much darkness there. Steve and Jennifer need to be prepared personally and as a family. They are anxious to get started but want to be sure of the Lord’s preparation and timing.
• It seems to be a consensus at this time, that people who want to establish new centers in this country might profitably spend some time in Indonesia first to learn about community and submission, to live simply and depend on God. Later, when more centers get established in this country, new people can be prepared in this country.
• Several weeks ago, the team from Bealeton and one member from Baltimore visited a boys’ ranch in Pennsylvania called “There is Room in the Inn.” They spent the night, shared, worshiped, and prayed with the boys, who were open to the worship and wanted more of God. They have already scheduled visits to Bealeton to learn more about worship and the moving of the Holy Spirit. We are hoping that we may be able to work more closely with them in the future.

Our financial report for 1998 reflects a stronger position than ever before. During 1998, we were able to complete the building and furnishing of the house in Bealeton, Virginia, carry on several discipleship training courses in various places, go on several mission trips, send funds for building in Pontianak, West Borneo, bring eight Indonesians here to help start the worship and ministry programs in Bealeton, and purchase a van. At present, we have substantial sums set aside to begin the projects in two other places and for future development at the Virginia location. The Lord has indeed provided our needs out of His abundance. We extend our thanks to all who have contributed to the work in the past year and supported us in prayer. As most of you probably know, we have several parcels of land on which we intend to build worship centers which we know will develop into ministry centers. At the present time, we have several families who are praying for the Lord’s vision and timing to start on several of these lands. We feel a considerable urgency to get started on these, but want to be sure of the Lord’s direction and proper timing. We are looking at quite large projects. Fr. Michael and Linda Chapman are praying about starting on the property in North Carolina. The land is in the surveying stage at the moment. Steve and Jenny Noppenberger are aiming towards a family retreat/counseling center in West Virginia. Our center in Bealeton, Virginia, has already become much too small for the numbers of people that want to come there, and another building has become an urgent necessity. Other people are praying about other possibilities.
We greatly need your prayers for God’s direction and anointing on all that we do.
 
 
 

UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST There are several reasons for believing that God’s central purpose for these days is to gather His people together in one, where we will each find his place in the Body of Christ and recognize others as they function in the place God has set them in the Body. Ephesians 1:10 speaks of this unity: “That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him” (KJV). To be gathered together in Christ is to become a part of His life as He calls and anoints the different ones to carry out His purpose for their lives. The Bible speaks of Jesus as the Word of God and also as the true eternal life of God, as we read in 1 John 1:2: “For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us” (KJV). There are many things we can learn about living the Christian life and serving God, but eventually we should cross that line where Christ becomes our life, the life we live. A life where self is left behind and our life becomes a matter of fulfilling the words that we hear God speaking to us by whatever means He uses to speak, where instead of teaching people what they should know and do, we urge them to follow the inward witness of the Holy Spirit, as they fulfill God’s purpose for their life, and where it is not what we can do for God but what He can accomplish through us—where we cease to be worried about what is going to happen or how to be rich and powerful; but our confession will be, “Jesus lives, and He lives in me to do the Father’s will.” Then, like the Apostle Paul, we can say, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21 KJV).  Everett Allen

REPORT FROM PONTIANAK We want to make our report on the building program in Pontianak. Our first project is to build a meeting room 23 x 10 meters.The corner stone was laid on December 2, 1998, and construction began on December 8. We hired four workers from outside to work with our staff and students. We had to lay an unusually strong foundation, because the land is somewhat swampy.

When we received the money from The Holy Way in America, we put it in the bank. At that time, interest was 50 percent a month. With this, we were able to buy a Honda motorcycle, which greatly increases our ability to reach out to widely separated towns and villages in the interior. Then, when we were ready to continue the building process, prices of building materials had gone down, so we are able to buy them more cheaply. We are saving money by making our own building blocks.
Three of the hired workmen are from other religions, but they are beginning to say “Hallelujah” and “Praise the Lord.” Recently, they have been asking us to play Christian songs. They have even started praying before they eat.

 THE HOLY CONVOCATION 1999

On Saturday, February 20, a group of twenty met at the home of Bob and Joannie Tribull. We spent much of the time in worship. The Lord also spoke to us in prophetic utterance and through Scripture. By the end of the meeting, it was clear that the topic for this year’s Holy Convocation will be “See the Majesty of the Lord” with a subtitle “Manifesting the Holy Spirit for the Establishment of the Kingdom.”
We are very much aware that the Lord is acting in the world and in our part of the world in a very powerfuland definitive way. Revival will break out as we are faithful to pray. We know that we have a window of opportunity and a commission from the Lord in which we dare not fail. We will have a greater manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit and of the supernatural power of our God. On the other hand, there will be a time of trouble and persecution. The Lord wants to prepare us quickly for all these things.
Obviously, Holy Convocation this year is going to be a momentous and decisive occasion.
 
 

Holy Convocation 1999 will be from July 25 to 30 at the Tuscarora Conference Center in Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania (not in New Windsor, Maryland, as in previous years).

Each day, from 5 to 8 A.M. After breakfast, we work outside on the property for several hours. Then we do Bible study, either corporately or personally. Each evening, we gather again for prayer at 7, continuing as long as the Lord leads.
Wednesdays are for fasting and prayer. In the evening, we have fellowship with the people of the Assembly of God congregation.
Friday nights, we have fellowship with a cell group in Fairfax.
We are also involved with several Indonesian churches in the D.C. area and other ministry.
Once a week, we visit friends in the area, participating in their activities and praying with them.
